What you’ll learn
How to use Meshtastic over the radio network so phones can swap text-style messages nearby, without Wi‑Fi or mobile data.
What it is good for: Neighborhoods, events, trails, boats, rural pockets.
It is NOT: A full replacement for emergency services or guaranteed delivery everywhere.
How simple is it? Pair a small device with your phone; send a test message in the room.
What you need: A phone, A LoRa Meshtastic device, powerbank and/or 6w solar panel, USB-C cable, and other people with radios in range to form a network.
You Should Come If:
You know how to use a cell phone to install apps and connect to Wifi/Bluetooth.
You want to have a way to message your community in the event of power, internet, and cellphone data network outages
You want to have an alternate way to message that is not connected to the internet.
