[PT] Workshop de Digitalização para Bordado à Máquina

Neste workshop, os participantes vão aprender as ferramentas básicas de design do Ink Stitch, um software livre de digitalização para bordado à máquina baseado no Inkscape. Os participantes vão aplicar essas habilidades para criar o seu próprio design e vão bordá-lo numa máquina Janome Memory Craft 500E.

Resultados de Aprendizagem 

No final da sessão, os participantes irão: 

• • Familiarizar-se com o processo de digitalização e fluxo de trabalho para bordado à máquina
  • Compreender a interface Inkscape/Ink Stitch e os seus vários comandos e ferramentas.
  • Adquirir as competências necessárias para parametrizar uma imagem vetorial para bordado à máquina e otimizar a ordem e os caminhos dos pontos.
  • Identificar erros comuns de software e digitalização e como solucioná-los
  • Realizar um teste do seu projeto digitalizado para verificar a sua funcionalidade.

O workshop será em inglês, orientado por Justine Latour, com explicações em português funcional a pedido.

Formadora: Justine Latour é uma designer de Toronto, com formação em moda e têxtil, design e produção. Através do seu trabalho ela sublinha uma abordagem de slow fashion, explorando materiais e tecnologias inovadoras e defendendo a criação e o consumo responsáveis. @justine.latour / @burnt.design

Condições: €40 por participante, inclui todos os materiais necessários para bordar. Os participantes precisam trazer um computador portátil com Inkscape e Inkstitch instalado e também poderão trazer tecido que pretendem bordar.

[EN] Digitizing for Embroidery Workshop

In this workshop participants will learn the basic design tools of Ink Stitch, an open-source embroidery digitizing software based on Inkscape. Participants will then apply these skills to create their own design and have it embroidered on a Janome Memory Craft 500E machine.

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the session participants will: 

• • Become familiar with the digitizing process and workflow for machine embroidery
  • Understand the Inkscape/Ink Stitch interface and its various tools and commands
  • Acquire the necessary skills to parametrize a vector image for machine embroidery and optimize stitch order and paths.
  • Identify common software and digitizing errors and how to troubleshoot them
  • Perform a test run of their digitized design to check its functionality and make necessary alterations.

The workshop will be in English, facilitated by Justine Latour

Instructor: Justine Latour is a multidisciplinary designer from Toronto, with a background in fashion and textile, design and production. Central to her body of work is a slow fashion approach, exploring innovative materials and technologies while advocating for responsible creation and consumption. @justine.latour / @burnt.design

Conditions: €40 per participant, includes all necessary tools and materials to machine embroider. Participants must bring their own laptop and have Inkscape e Inkstitch installed. They can also bring their own fabric to embroider.
